Barsilsskipanin now in English

We are pleased to announce that Barsilsskipanin now has an English version.

Barsilsskipanin is administered by TAKS and has the same customer service and address as TAKS in Skálatrøð in Tórshavn. The purpose of Barsilsskipanin is to make it financially possible for children and parents to be together during the first period of the child's life. This website informs new parents of their financial options and advises employers on what to do when their employees take parental leave. 

The launch of this website in English means that non-Faroese speakers and newcomers to the Faroe Islands are better positioned to learn about their entitlements to parental benefits.

To begin with, there will be a bar at the bottom of the page where you can send us your feedback. We welcome any comments or suggestions that can make our website even better.
